Age stability of La(Fe,Si)13 hydrides with giant magnetocaloric effects

چکیده
The Curie temperatures (TC) of La0.7Ce0.3Fe13-x-yMnxSiy compounds that are hydrogenated to saturation raised near room temperature. age stability was investigated for the fully La0.7Ce0.3Fe11.5-xMnxSi1.5 compounds. This result indicates H content will slowly decrease in hydrides, leading a TC. However, no splitting is observed after hydrides held at temperature two years, indicating excellent hydrides. Further structural analysis by neutron diffraction shows Mn atoms preferentially substitute Fe 96i sites. TC La0.7Ce0.3Fe11.55-yMnySi1.45 can be adjusted desired working regulating based on linear relationship between and content. Moreover, exhibit giant magnetic entropy change 15 J·kg?1·K?1 under low field 0?1 T. As result, magnetocaloric effect, linearly adjustable TC, make one ideal candidates refrigerants.

Structural stability of complex hydrides: LiBH4 revisited.
A systematic approach to study the phase stability of LiBH4 based on ab initio calculations is presented. Three thermodynamically stable phases are identified and a new phase of Cc symmetry is proposed for the first time for a complex hydride. The x-ray diffraction pattern and vibrational spectra of the Cc structure agree well with recently reported experimental data on LiBH4. Calculations of t...

Large magnetically driven temperature changes are observed in MnFe(P,Si,B) materials simultaneously with large entropy changes, limited (thermal or magnetic) hysteresis, and good mechanical stability. The partial substitution of B for P in MnFe(P,Si) compounds is found to be an ideal parameter to control the latent heat observed at the Curie point without deteriorating the magnetic properties, ...

A systematic set of annealings on arc-melted synthesized Gd5Si2Ge2 sample was performed. Through powder x-ray di raction (XRD) and magnetometry measurements we monitored the effect of varying the annealing time with constant temperature (T = 1473K) on the formation of the Monoclinic (M ) crystallographic phase fraction, which is the one responsible for the Giant Magnetocaloric E ect (GMCE) in t...

The magnetostructural transitions, magnetocaloric effects, and magnetoresistance properties of Ni45Mn43CrSn11 Heusler alloys were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-dependent magnetization, and electrical resistivity measurements. A large inverse and direct magnetocaloric effect has been observed in Ni45Mn43CrSn11 across the martensitic and Curie transition temperature, respectiv...
